Obit/Tribute - Premature adieu by Prabal Gupta - Leela Venkataraman

A Bengali settled in Bangalore practicing Kathakali stree vesham - nothing about dancer Prabal Gupta seemed to fall into one inevitable connect! Much in the same vein was his sudden passing away in the prime of health, just as his career seemed to be taking an upward curve with promise of more performance opportunities.

    OMG...!! Very sad. As a photographer friend I had clicked his at home dance performance during COVID days. I had clicked his performance sitting in Perth. It was a new experience for both of us. I had presented it to him in the form of a photobook. Last I met him in October 2023. He had told me he would perform again on Dec2, 2023 at chennai, and I would click some memorable shots during his performance which never happened and messages on his WA went unanswered since I was off FB. I had captured memorable photos of his kathakali performance themed Macbeth with VipinSer at Af chennai. He asked for high res photos which I had shared and he loved it all. But I had no inkling my friend is no more. In fact all photos in my media and Instagram r memories I and the world would remember him through. May his noble dancing soul RIP
